Conversion Formula
The target date and time are subtracted from the current date and time, giving a difference in milliseconds. That is converted to days (divide by 86,400,000), then the remaining hours (divide remainder by 3,600,000), then remaining minutes.

Does this use my local timezone?
Yes. The countdown is calculated using your device's local time. If you and a colleague are in different timezones, your countdowns to the same event may differ.
What happens if the date has already passed?
The status field will show "This date has passed" and the days/hours/minutes show how long ago it was.
Is the countdown live or a snapshot?
This is a snapshot taken at the moment you click calculate. Refresh or recalculate to update the countdown. For a live ticking countdown, you would need a dedicated countdown app.
